Back home from a three-day photo shoot at Blommeröd Arabian Stud. This is owner Vicke Philip Sörensen with her amazing mare Migracja (Gazal Al Shaqab x Mandala/Fynt).
Blommeröd Arabian Stud was founded in 1964 by Vicke´s father Erik Philip Sörensen and the first mare imported from Poland was the bay mare Edessa (Pietuszok x Ellora/Witraz) with her colt Edus (by Czort) at her side. Edessa was later sold to the family Axelsson, Wilkesbacka Gård, where she had two daughters by Exelsjor – Edjora and Exessa – before Edessa was sold to the US together with Edjora. The latter is the dam of US National Champion Mare Kajora, the dam of Gazal Al Shaqab.
In 1965 Erik imported the stallion Dardir (Nabor x Darda/Amurath Sahib) and 9 mares from Poland, which included 4 daugthers of Negatiw and 2 Comet-daughters.
Blommeröd is known world-wide for the amazing horses they bred and most famous is the stallion Probat (Pohaniec x Borexia/Exelsjor). Blommeröd still have one direct daugther of Probat – the Swedish National Reserve Champion Mare and Norwegian National Champion Mare Regina (out of Rucasja/Exelsjor) and we photographed her colt by Malagant (Turki Al Rayyan x Migracja/Gazal Al Shaqab) this week. One of the best Blommeröd-horses today is the great mare Magora (Gazal Al Shaqab x Margotka/Algorytm), who was UK International Gold Champion Mare two weeks ago. Magora is the 5th generation of Blommeröd-bred mares and she is owned by Al Khalediah Stud. Her full-sister Maranta is still owned by Blommeröd but she is for sale…
I will be in contact with You regarding new photos of my “daughter” Ballora in order to provide these to Vicke/Blommeröd; priority number one.
Regards Lena/Ballora.
