One of my biggest joy in life is to meet new people and especially when you find people that you know crossed your path for a reason and that they will be an important part of your life. Of course you will meet people that will hurt or use you, that will test you or teach you things. But the important people are the ones that brings out the best in you and those are very precious and worth keeping on to.
One of my precious friends is Ms Joanna ”Jennie” Kale and I dare to say that we bring out the best in each other and we make fun and good things happen. Jennie asked me in 2013 if I would bring her to Poland to visit the State Studs after the All Nations Cup in Aachen, so I arranged our trip and neither of us could imagine what impact this trip would have on not only us but also on Polish breeding.
Jennie´s stallions HK Marcello (Marwan Al Shaqab x Satin Mist/Muscat) and HK Krystall (LD Pistal x Lisa Mine/RD Ariel) were standing at Kossack Stud in Amsterdam after spending the last two years at Tersk in Russia. As we were flying out from Amsterdam to Warsaw Jennie wanted us to make an impulsive visit Sunday evening to visit her boys and for me to see them in real life. I had looked at the pedigrees and was especially thrilled with HK Krystall´s dam Lisa Mine and her amazing Russian pedigree, tracing down in tail female line to the legendary Mammona (Ofir x Krucica/Farys II).
Lisa Mine is a daughter of RD Ariel (Muscat x Nariadnaia/Aswan), who was maternal brother to the great Nariadni (by Nabeg).
Lisa Mine´s dam FA Mona Lisa was by Muslin (Salon x Magnolia/Arax) and out of Modnitsa by Nabeg (Arax x Nomenklatura/Naseem) and out of Margaritka (Aswan x Monopolia/Priboj).
Lisa Mine has the great Mammona 5 times in her pedigree through 4 of her daughters – Monopolia (by Priboj), Malpia (by Priboj), Nomenklatura (by Naseem) and Magnolia (by Arax). I love the influence of this amazing mare who was born in 1939 at Janów Podlaski and was captured by the Russian army together with her mother Krucica and the rest of the Janów Podlaski herd and as a little filly she walked the 1500 km to Tersk. Mammona would later have the biggest impact on the Russian breeding program and she is a strenght in every pedigree. So I was pretty impressed by HK Krystall´s pedigree.
HK Krystall´s sire is the multi-champion stallion LD Pistal (Magnum Psyche x Halana/Hal Gibby) and he is most likely the Arabian stallion with most titles among his great achievements in the showring. Being a son of the famous Magnum Psyche (Padrons Psyche x A Fancy Miracle/Sasaki), he has a mix of Russian and Spanish bloodlines with a blend of Crabbet-lines through Padron´s dam Odessa (Bright Shadow x Serinda/Seradin).
LD Pistal´s dam Halana is a daughter of Hal Gibby and his sire Hal Gazal was imported in utero from Poland being by Eleuzis (Aquinor x Ellenai/Wielki Szlem) out of Bufa (Negatiw x Busznica/Faher). Hal Gibby´s dam G-Amaka was by G-Amigo (Niga x Ga-Rageyma/Ferzon) and his sireline goes down to another war trophy from Poland that made a huge impact in his new country – USA – the great Witez II (Ofir x Federacja/Burgas d.b.). G-Amaka´s dam Bint Aka (Aka x Kasalah/Kahar) carries Crabbet bloodlines and belongs to the celebrated dam family of Rodania d.b.
Halana´s dam Hickorys Natasha was by Tah Zaman (Ansata Shah Zaman x Ro Murtah/Raminage) and out of Arabest Narranne (Nabiel x Durranne/Durral), both of them sired by Egyptian stallions with Crabbet bloodlines on their dams side.
Even though HK Krystall like most stallions today belongs to the Saklawi-sireline I felt that it was his dam family that made my thoughts wander to Bialka and their breeding program.
After visiting HK Krystall and falling in love with his sweet disposition I told Jennie that he would be interesting for Bialka to use. And to make a long story shorter I showed Bialka´s breeding manager Renata Kurzynska the pedigree and some photos of HK Krystall and one month later he arrived at Bialka Stud farm to stand at stud in 2014-2015.
HK Krystall have 17 foals born at Bialka in 2015-2016 – 10 colts and 7 fillies and he has also been used by private breeders.
Among his first foal crop Bialka picked out the colt Elidus (out of Elidia/Pegasus) and Birmina (out of Bint Ermina/Kabsztad) to be shown and they had a very successful season where Elidus brought home 3 titles to Bialka – 5th Arabian Horse Warsaw Championship Yearling Silver Champion Stallion, Polish National Junior Silver Champion Stallion and Al Khalediah European Arabian Horse Festival Yearling Bronze Champion Stallion.
HK Krystall´s stay in Poland has been prolonged and I am thrilled to see his babies growing up and eventually seeing them being bred and carry on the legacy of their sire at Bialka.
It is interesting how meetings and small things can make something bigger happen and it is so amazing when those meetings will add people to your life that will bring out the best of you and make your life fuller. Jennie and I have had a lot of fun together and I know that the future has more adventures for us, with a lot of laughs, dancing and planning. Oh, and lots and lots of coffee 😉
Today is Jennie´s Birthday and my gift to you my friend is this presentation of your boy and his babies. Be proud of him and what he has achieved with his offspring so far, it is an exciting journey and I am so happy to been a part of it.
Jennie, you always smile and look at me when you think that I have done something good and then you say ”yea, I´ll keep you”. Well Ms Kale, right back at ya – I´ll keep you! Happy Birthday gorgeous!
